Sulevi Reinikainen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonni Nylund in the 45th minute of the match. A collision led to Villmanstrand getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Stiliyan Nashkov hit a great ball. After the first half Jojo were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alvar Kiprusoff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 54 played minutes Jojo got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Saira. Keimo Heino kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Alvar Kiprusoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sulevi Reinikainen having to interfere. Juho Marttinen came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Atro Kuusela could save by the left post. After 70 played minutes Jojo got a freekick which was hit by Tapani Venäläinen. A collision led to Villmanstrand getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Cyrille Hetzel hit a great ball. Villmanstrand's Atro Kuusela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Villmanstrand from getting a goal against them. 80 minutes into the match, Juho Marttinen notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Villmanstrand's Atro Kuusela. Atro Kuusela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Villmanstrand booed when Jojo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaus Saira didn't get a good kick on the ball.
