Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alvar Kiprusoff made the kick off and thus started the match. When Jonni Nylund came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Villmanstrand fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonni Nylund couldn't finish the play. Saarimäki FC's Sauli Forss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonni Nylund in the 12th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Jonni Nylund made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Saarimäki FC's Sauli Forss tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonni Nylund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Veli-Matti Karvinen charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Veli-Matti Karvinen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Veli-Matti Karvinen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvar Kiprusoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Sauli Forss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atro Kuusela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teijo Viinanen in the 29th minute of the match. Saarimäki FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Seppo Wallenius in the 30th minute. The corner led to Saarimäki FC's Teijo Viinanen getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvar Kiprusoff in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sauli Forss prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Sauli Forss didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 56th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. After a rather tough play, Villmanstrand's Alpo Junnila got a free kick in the 61st minute. Jonni Nylund was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 65th minute. Villmanstrand's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jonni Nylund struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Sauli Forss didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villmanstrand. Atro Kuusela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Onni Rantala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes in the game, Jonni Nylund fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sauli Forss having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Villmanstrand got a freekick which was hit by Jyrki Korhonen. Teijo Viinanen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Atro Kuusela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Onni Rantala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Alvar Kiprusoff could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Sauli Forss however easily saved by the left post. Teijo Viinanen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atro Kuusela having to interfere.
