Spectators: 6934 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1934, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alvar Kiprusoff took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Jonni Nylund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 7th minute, Alvar Kiprusoff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonni Nylund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 11 minutes into the match, Torajärvi IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Alvar Kiprusoff came free, but Henry Sihvonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jyrki Korhonen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Henry Sihvonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cyrille Hetzel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvar Kiprusoff in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henry Sihvonen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Henry Sihvonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonni Nylund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henry Sihvonen came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Villmanstrand's Jonni Nylund. But to his dismay, Jonni Nylund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Alvar Kiprusoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Sihvonen having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Alvar Kiprusoff notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Torajärvi IFK's Henry Sihvonen. Henry Sihvonen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jonni Nylund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Sihvonen having to interfere. Villmanstrand's Jonni Nylund got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonni Nylund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Henry Sihvonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Torajärvi IFK defense, Jonni Nylund kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henry Sihvonen. The Torajärvi IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henry Sihvonen should have stopped the shot. Torajärvi IFK's Henry Sihvonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvar Kiprusoff in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kay Setälä to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Torajärvi IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ambro Räsänen to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute, Jonni Nylund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 61 minutes, Ambro Räsänen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Torajärvi IFK and the Villmanstrand players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st match minute, Torajärvi IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ambro Räsänen to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Jonni Nylund sped through Torajärvi IFK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henry Sihvonen. In the 78th minute, Jonni Nylund made a precise shot to the right of Henry Sihvonen. Torajärvi IFK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. If Alvar Kiprusoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvar Kiprusoff could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Henry Sihvonen made a huge save. 90 minutes into the match, Torajärvi IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Jonni Nylund came free, but Henry Sihvonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonni Nylund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Villmanstrand could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Torajärvi IFK throughout the match.
