The supporters of Strandbyn booed when Saarimäki FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jani Ahola didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Saarimäki FC's Onni Rantala slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ylermi Kanto. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. Strandbyn's Ylermi Kanto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teijo Viinanen in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Markku Ahmaoja left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strandbyn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Teijo Viinanen hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Markku Ahmaoja managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strandbyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Markku Ahmaoja was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sauli Forss breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jani Ahola charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A well-hit corner resulted in Jyri Koskinen heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Benjamin Salonen charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ylermi Kanto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teijo Viinanen, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. If Benjamin Salonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arsi Kaitainen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kaleva Tikka charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kaleva Tikka the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Markku Ahmaoja got free with Sauli Forss in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erkki Puranen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sauli Forss having to interfere. After some careless play in the Strandbyn defense, Onni Rantala kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ylermi Kanto. The Strandbyn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ylermi Kanto should have stopped the shot. Erkki Puranen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sauli Forss made an important save on a dangerous shot by Markku Ahmaoja in the 64th minute. Sauli Forss showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erkki Puranen in the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Saarimäki FC's goalkeeper Sauli Forss had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Markku Ahmaoja. In the 67th minute Teijo Viinanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ylermi Kanto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Strandbyn's Ylermi Kanto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teijo Viinanen in the 71st minute of play. Heikki Kaipainen struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Sauli Forss didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strandbyn. After a rather tough play, Saarimäki FC's Benjamin Salonen got a free kick in the 78th minute. The audience was convinced that Heikki Kaipainen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sauli Forss was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. If Erkki Puranen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atso Koivu's late challenge caught a Strandbyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atso Koivu helped the player get up and apologised. Atso Koivu kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. A collision led to Strandbyn getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Jyri Koskinen hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, Arsi Kaitainen fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 91st match minute, Saarimäki FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atso Koivu to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the game, Jani Ahola threw the ball into play from the sideline. Strandbyn's Heikki Kaipainen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Saarimäki FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Strandbyn had controlled the match.
