Naarksd's Petteri Nikko managed to work through Ajax Ajax's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. In the 67th minute, Ajax Ajax's Rafael Kiprusoff ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kalervo Häppölä. Kalervo Häppölä yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Keijo Nieminen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ajax Ajax's zone, Teemu Uotila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaleva Heinola came out of the goal and Teemu Uotila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kalervo Häppölä made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Kiprusoff in the 82nd minute of play. Kalervo Häppölä was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Panu Henriksson. In the 87th minute, Panu Kangasniemi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Asmo Siren was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Keijo Nieminen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
