Spectators: 8094 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Alvar Kiprusoff kicked off to start the match. Alvar Kiprusoff in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jori Kokko, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jonni Nylund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Jori Kokko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvar Kiprusoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th match minute, Villmanstrand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonni Nylund to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Kalervo Rovio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jori Kokko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonni Nylund in the 24th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Villmanstrand's Cyrille Hetzel got a free kick in the 25th minute. Visa Hakaniemi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Atro Kuusela. Villmanstrand's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Atro Kuusela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tapio Sjögren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tapio Sjögren scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Atro Kuusela, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kalervo Rovio in the 40th minute of play forced Villmanstrand's goalkeeper Atro Kuusela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. East Kontula's Jori Kokko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonni Nylund in the 42nd minute of play. Kaapro Tarvainen's late challenge caught a East Kontula's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaapro Tarvainen helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes Villmanstrand got a freekick which was hit by Kaapro Tarvainen.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tapio Sjögren was the one to do the kick off. Atro Kuusela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvard Kaarniemi in the 51st minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, East Kontula's goal looked a bit too open when Alvar Kiprusoff came free, but Jori Kokko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Jyrki Korhonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atro Kuusela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ossi Blom in the 61st minute of the match. Jori Kokko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonni Nylund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hannu Kampman's late challenge caught a Villmanstrand's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hannu Kampman helped the player get up and apologised. Jori Kokko came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Villmanstrand's Jonni Nylund. But to his dismay, Jonni Nylund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After having played for 83 minutes, Joonas Rosendahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Kontula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joonas Rosendahl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joonas Rosendahl during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Villmanstrand's Taito Raisanen got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute of the match Juha Roiha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Atro Kuusela skillfully saved the ball. Villmanstrand's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
