Spectators: 8432 (Terracing: 6325, Seating: 1939, VIP seats: 168) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jani Hernesniemi kicked off to start the match. After 3 played minutes FC Jazz got a freekick which was hit by Ian Callus. After 6 minutes, Tommi Palo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PR Merkkausvirhe and the FC Jazz players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th minute, Tommi Palo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute, Joonas Pärssinen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PR Merkkausvirhe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jouko Louke hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After 16 played minutes PR Merkkausvirhe got a freekick which was hit by Joonas Pärssinen. Jani Hernesniemi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Jazz's Jani Hernesniemi got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jyri Etula scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oiva Paappanen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oiva Paappanen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jyri Etula in the 31st minute of play. After 33 played minutes PR Merkkausvirhe got a freekick which was hit by Joonas Pärssinen. Oiva Paappanen came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by PR Merkkausvirhe's Jyri Etula. But to his dismay, Jyri Etula quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 42nd minute, Tommi Palo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute, Jyri Etula ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oiva Paappanen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joakim Lumme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joakim Lumme got free with Oiva Paappanen in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Valio Kiviranta took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Akseli Sulku. Akseli Sulku dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. 61 minutes into the match, FC Jazz's goalkeeper Oiva Paappanen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joakim Lumme. Sakari Ahmaoja charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sakari Ahmaoja the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Jazz getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Sakari Ahmaoja hit a great ball. Oiva Paappanen was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Jyri Etula capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jyri Etula really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. Joakim Lumme received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Oiva Paappanen came out and tried to block the shot, but Joakim Lumme slotted it home off the left post making it 1-8 in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jyri Etula in the 73rd minute of play forced FC Jazz's goalkeeper Oiva Paappanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miro Uotila got free with Oiva Paappanen in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oiva Paappanen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joakim Lumme in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jyri Etula in the 78th minute of play forced FC Jazz's goalkeeper Oiva Paappanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, FC Jazz's Oiva Paappanen got control of the ball when Miro Uotila tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jani Hernesniemi took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Akseli Sulku. Akseli Sulku dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-8. With a little luck, FC Jazz's Oiva Paappanen got control of the ball when Joakim Lumme tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sakari Ahmaoja hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. When Jyri Etula came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the PR Merkkausvirhe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jyri Etula couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the match, FC Jazz's goalkeeper Oiva Paappanen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tommi Palo. Oiva Paappanen was a little too slow when Jyri Etula got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 2-9. When the match was over PR Merkkausvirhe could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Jazz throughout the match.
