Riiteovaara's Vilho Oinas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Riiteovaara from getting a goal against them. Vilho Oinas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarmo Kokko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Riiteovaara's zone, Jesse Salermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vilho Oinas came out of the goal and Jesse Salermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute Jarmo Kokko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilho Oinas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Riiteovaara's Vilho Oinas got control of the ball when Jesse Salermo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jarmo Kokko was the one to do the kick off. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aulis Peltomaa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimo Sulku having to interfere. A collision led to Parpola getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jesse Salermo hit a great ball. Riiteovaara's Vilho Oinas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarmo Kokko in the 92nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Parpola had won after a very even match.
