Atro Luoma breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 5 played minutes Ruissalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Kauko Kouhi. If Mikko Tuulola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Teuvo Kiviranta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Atro Luoma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Ruissalo FC's Kauko Kouhi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roni Hulkkonen. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Atro Luoma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teuvo Kiviranta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 played minutes Ruissalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Kauko Kouhi. Roni Hulkkonen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pentti Leonoff in the 21st minute. Roni Koivuranta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Ruissalo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mikko Tuulola came free, but Atro Luoma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roni Koivuranta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Atro Luoma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roni Hulkkonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akseli Martikainen in the 34th minute of the match. Atro Luoma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikko Tuulola, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Roni Koivuranta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atro Luoma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismo Häppölä in the 39th minute of play. Atro Luoma dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The supporters of Ruissalo FC booed when Lappohja FCa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvo Halminen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Akseli Martikainen made the kick off in the second half. Atro Luoma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismo Häppölä, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ruissalo FC's goalkeeper Atro Luoma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roni Koivuranta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atro Luoma having to interfere. A collision led to Lappohja FCa getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Mikko Tuulola hit a great ball. Mikko Tuulola was in a good position and ended up with the ball after Lappohja FCa's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ruissalo FC's Mikko Konttila got a free kick in the 68th minute. With a little luck, Ruissalo FC's Atro Luoma got control of the ball when Mikko Tuulola tried to sneak it across the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Ruissalo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Teuvo Kiviranta came free, but Atro Luoma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 minutes, Urpo Viitakoski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lappohja FCa and the Ruissalo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lappohja FCa getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Urpo Viitakoski hit a great ball. Arto Palsola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Roni Koivuranta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute of the match Ismo Häppölä shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Atro Luoma showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alvar Kesä recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 91st minute of the match Urpo Viitakoski completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Urpo Viitakoski a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 92nd minute of the match Arto Palsola shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roni Hulkkonen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Lappohja FCa players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
