Seating: 1940, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Juuso Leonoff kicked off to start the match. Esko Niskala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikko Tuulola in the 3rd minute of play. Roni Hulkkonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juuso Leonoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Saku Paatelainen's late challenge caught a Lappohja FCa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saku Paatelainen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th match minute, Virojoki was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saku Paatelainen to maneuver through the defense. Roni Hulkkonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juuso Leonoff in the 9th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Ismo Häppölä shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esko Niskala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esko Niskala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teuvo Kiviranta, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Roni Koivuranta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st minute, Ismo Häppölä got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Teuvo Kiviranta notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Virojoki's Esko Niskala. Esko Niskala was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mikko Tuulola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esko Niskala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikko Tuulola in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Virojoki's Juuso Leonoff got a free kick in the 31st minute. Virojoki's Esko Niskala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismo Häppölä in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Roni Koivuranta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lappohja FCa's supporters rose to their feet, but Roni Koivuranta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esko Niskala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35thth minute of the game Ismo Häppölä who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Virojoki's Esko Niskala was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 37 played minutes Lappohja FCa got a freekick which was hit by Urpo Viitakoski. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anselmi Timmonen got free with Roni Hulkkonen in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Esko Niskala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismo Häppölä in the 44th minute of play. Roni Koivuranta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Lappohja FCa were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
After a defensive mix-up in Virojoki's zone, Ismo Häppölä stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esko Niskala came out of the goal and Ismo Häppölä tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Virojoki! In the 57th minute, Mikko Tuulola ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Esko Niskala was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 61 minutes into the match, Virojoki's goalkeeper Esko Niskala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ismo Häppölä. Virojoki's Esko Niskala proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Virojoki from getting a goal against them. Roni Hulkkonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panu Koivuporras in the 66th minute of the match. Teuvo Kiviranta might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esko Niskala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teuvo Kiviranta ran back to his position shaking his head. Ismo Häppölä who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Esko Niskala when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Esko Niskala stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ismo Häppölä's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. With a little luck, Virojoki's Esko Niskala got control of the ball when Reijo Laukkanen tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Virojoki's goal looked a bit too open when Ismo Häppölä came free, but Esko Niskala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saku Paatelainen kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Lappohja FCa's Ismo Häppölä ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Esko Niskala. Esko Niskala yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Virojoki's zone, Mikko Tuulola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esko Niskala came out of the goal and Mikko Tuulola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmi Timmonen in the 93rd minute of play forced Lappohja FCa's goalkeeper Roni Hulkkonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the game, one of Virojoki:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lappohja FCa played a much better game than Virojoki and deserved their victory. The Virojoki players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
