Spectators: 6938 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1938, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Juuso Leonoff kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute Niilo Jussilainen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esko Niskala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keijo Österlund's late challenge caught a Strömsö IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Keijo Österlund helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Strömsö IFK booed when Virojoki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keijo Österlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Strömsö IFK's Jarkko Saastamoinen tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Esko Niskala stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ukko Ruohonen's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute, Sulo Helminen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juuso Leonoff in the 16th minute of play forced Strömsö IFK's goalkeeper Jari Salonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Strömsö IFK getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Sulo Helminen hit a great ball. The supporters of Virojoki booed when Strömsö IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arttu Hernesniemi didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ukko Ruohonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Virojoki's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Augusto Pires came free, but Esko Niskala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes, Ukko Ruohonen made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Virojoki's Esko Niskala tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ukko Ruohonen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esko Niskala having to interfere. When Strömsö IFK's Ukko Ruohonen in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Virojoki's goalie prevented a goal. Strömsö IFK's Arttu Hernesniemi got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Virojoki's Keijo Österlund got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ukko Ruohonen was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes Virojoki got a freekick which was hit by Tuomo Kokkonen. Strömsö IFK's Jari Salonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juuso Leonoff in the 57th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ukko Ruohonen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esko Niskala was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Esko Niskala stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ukko Ruohonen's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Virojoki's Esko Niskala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ukko Ruohonen in the 64th minute of play. Esko Niskala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ukko Ruohonen in the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st of the match, Ukko Ruohonen tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Esko Niskala got in the way and made a wonderful save. After 72 minutes, Tuomo Kokkonen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Virojoki and the Strömsö IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Virojoki getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Tuomo Kokkonen hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Ukko Ruohonen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Esko Niskala, 1-3. 88 minutes into the match, Virojoki's goalkeeper Esko Niskala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Esko Lähteenmäki. A collision led to Virojoki getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Juuso Leonoff hit a great ball. Ukko Ruohonen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Esko Niskala when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ukko Ruohonen in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esko Niskala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jan Karjalainen struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Esko Niskala didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strömsö IFK. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ukko Ruohonen in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esko Niskala saved Virojoki from getting behind. 96 minutes into the match, Ukko Ruohonen notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Virojoki's Esko Niskala. Esko Niskala was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
