With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kauno Timmonen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Pojo's goal looked a bit too open when Juha Ripatti came free, but Kauno Timmonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kauno Timmonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heikki Lumijärvi, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 94th minute, Valio Ronkainen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pojo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
