Edvard Helenius started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Edvard Helenius notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Dark Sons of Omar's Reino Piekkanen. Reino Piekkanen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Antto Kuhta hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Dark Sons of Omar's Reino Piekkanen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvard Helenius in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Tapiola IFK's Sulo Ahola nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reino Piekkanen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 20 minutes into the match, Dark Sons of Omar's goal looked a bit too open when Sulo Ahola came free, but Reino Piekkanen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rauli Uusitalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Dark Sons of Omar's zone, Sulo Ahola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reino Piekkanen came out of the goal and Sulo Ahola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Untamo Jatkola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rauli Uusitalo in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Tapiola IFK booed when Dark Sons of Omar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petri Hautaoja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reino Piekkanen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sulo Ahola in the 35th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Edvard Helenius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tapiola IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvard Helenius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reino Piekkanen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dark Sons of Omar's goalkeeper Reino Piekkanen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Reino Piekkanen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sulo Ahola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Tapiola IFK made a substitution. Aappo Manninen replaced Tony Kuuri. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rauli Uusitalo to strike the kick off in the second half. Sulo Ahola who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Reino Piekkanen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Edvard Helenius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tapiola IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvard Helenius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reino Piekkanen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sulo Ahola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jani Kujanpää charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jani Kujanpää the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Esa Tuomisaari took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Untamo Jatkola. Tapiola IFK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Reino Piekkanen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edvard Helenius's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Edvard Helenius sped through Dark Sons of Omar's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reino Piekkanen. Dark Sons of Omar's Daniel Kauppila got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edvard Helenius received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Reino Piekkanen came out and tried to block the shot, but Edvard Helenius slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 83rd minute. Reino Piekkanen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvard Helenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Dark Sons of Omar getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Rauli Uusitalo hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Mika Luhtio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Tapiola IFK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Dark Sons of Omar.
