Valtteri Määttänen kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Sami Vuorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Sami Vuorio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gigi Mantu was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Valto Väätäinen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigi Mantu having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Vastarinta's Valto Väätäinen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gigi Mantu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Albert Jokilahti hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Gigi Mantu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Valtteri Määttänen. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sami Vuorio in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Mantu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aarre Kuparinen kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes Mannerheim got a freekick which was hit by Kosti Vehanen. Santeri Viitaluoma, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 30th match minute, Vastarinta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valtteri Määttänen to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Kullervo Niemivirta put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mikko Puikkonen. Gigi Mantu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sami Vuorio in the 35th minute of play. Sami Vuorio scored 2-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gigi Mantu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 42 minutes, Santeri Viitaluoma mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vastarinta and the Mannerheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vastarinta's Santeri Viitaluoma got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Sami Vuorio took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigi Mantu. Gigi Mantu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kullervo Niemivirta was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Sami Vuorio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vastarinta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sami Vuorio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the game, Mikael Pietikäinen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vastarinta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mannerheim the free kick. After a rather tough play, Vastarinta's Mikael Pietikäinen got a free kick in the 54th minute. Gigi Mantu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sami Vuorio's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Sami Vuorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kullervo Niemivirta might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mikko Puikkonen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kullervo Niemivirta ran back to his position shaking his head. When Vastarinta's Sami Vuorio in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mannerheim's goalie prevented a goal. Sami Vuorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mannerheim's Gigi Mantu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sami Vuorio in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of Vastarinta booed when Mannerheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Jokilahti didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute of the match Santeri Viitaluoma sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gigi Mantu skillfully saved the ball. In the 90th minute, Valto Väätäinen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gigi Mantu was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Mannerheim's Gigi Mantu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sami Vuorio in the 93rd minute of play. Vastarinta's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
