The supporters of Mustanisdfemi IFK booed when Vastarinta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikael Pietikäinen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jarno Blom struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Mikko Puikkonen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mustanisdfemi IFK. Osmo Pasanen came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Vastarinta's Sami Vuorio. But to his dismay, Sami Vuorio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 18th minute, Valtteri Määttänen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, Sami Vuorio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Osmo Pasanen. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 28th minute, Vastarinta's Sami Vuorio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. After a rather tough play, Vastarinta's Santeri Viitaluoma got a free kick in the 37th minute. Osmo Pasanen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sami Vuorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mikko Puikkonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salomon Sanevuori in the 43rd minute of the match. Vastarinta's Mikko Puikkonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarno Blom in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sami Vuorio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mikko Puikkonen made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Jarno Blom sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Mustanisdfemi IFK getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Taisto Vihermäki hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarno Blom in the 65th minute of play forced Vastarinta's goalkeeper Mikko Puikkonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salomon Sanevuori received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mikko Puikkonen came out and tried to block the shot, but Salomon Sanevuori slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 68th minute. After 71 played minutes Mustanisdfemi IFK got a freekick which was hit by Orvo Hämäläinen. In the 74th minute, Valto Väätäinen made a precise shot to the right of Osmo Pasanen. Mustanisdfemi IFK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Jyrki Hiedanpää recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Orvo Hämäläinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarno Blom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarno Blom struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Mikko Puikkonen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mustanisdfemi IFK. Jarno Blom's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mikko Puikkonen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The Vastarinta players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
