Lasse Saarelainen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santeri Viitaluoma in the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute Ciriaco Ferrando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikko Puikkonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mikko Puikkonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Ferrando, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Vastarinta's Mikko Puikkonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markus Pakaslahti in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Savon Palloseura booed when Vastarinta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmi Koistinen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute Ciriaco Ferrando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikko Puikkonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ciriaco Ferrando in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mikko Puikkonen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lasse Saarelainen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valto Väätäinen in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Vastarinta's goal looked a bit too open when Ciriaco Ferrando came free, but Mikko Puikkonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mikko Puikkonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Gaxan, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 28 played minutes Vastarinta got a freekick which was hit by Sami Vuorio. Markus Pakaslahti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Mikko Puikkonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Markus Pakaslahti scored 0-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mikko Puikkonen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ciriaco Ferrando kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Lasse Saarelainen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santeri Viitaluoma's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Tomas Gaxan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Gaxan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute, Väinö Helavuori hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciriaco Ferrando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikko Puikkonen having to interfere. The Vastarinta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Savon Palloseura were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Markus Pakaslahti made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Markus Pakaslahti notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Vastarinta's Mikko Puikkonen. Mikko Puikkonen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ciriaco Ferrando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Markus Pakaslahti kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mikko Puikkonen. That made the score 0-4 in the 58 minute of play. Savon Palloseura made a substitution. Cris Romero replaced Joel Grönvall. Savon Palloseura's Ciriaco Ferrando got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mitt Elin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Mikko Puikkonen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Vastarinta's goal looked a bit too open when Ciriaco Ferrando came free, but Mikko Puikkonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Aatu Sivonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A well placed Ciriaco Ferrando short distance shot in the 81st minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. 92 minutes into the match, Savon Palloseura's Ciriaco Ferrando sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikko Puikkonen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Savon Palloseura were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Vastarinta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ciriaco Ferrando took the corner. The crowd rose to their feet as Savon Palloseura's Ciriaco Ferrando slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mikko Puikkonen. That made the score 0-6 after 95 minutes of play. When the match was over Savon Palloseura could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vastarinta throughout the match.
