Seating: 1743, VIP seats: 0) Shandid's Fares Yousif started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Batran Anwar kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After 8 minutes, Maged Darweesh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zamalek and the Shandid players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Zamalek! Zamalek:s Gomaa Belal showed great skill when he stopped Medhat Amr:s penalty. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Medhat Amr took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Gomaa Belal to make any attempt to save it. In the 17th minute, Aebeed Ali got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fares Yousif received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gomaa Belal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fares Yousif sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aebeed Ali might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gomaa Belal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aebeed Ali ran back to his position shaking his head. If Aebeed Ali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Shandid booed when Zamalek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaafar Abbas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Medhat Amr was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 85th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gomaa Belal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aebeed Ali, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After having played for 88 minutes, Aebeed Ali managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shandid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aebeed Ali was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zamalek's goalkeeper Gomaa Belal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Zamalek supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Zamalek would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
