Seating: 1948, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Baher Gomaa got the match started through his kick off. If Nabil Serag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 4 played minutes Naqnaq got a freekick which was hit by Abdou Abdel Masoud. 7 minutes into the match, Adel Hussien had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mowafak Fahmy. Naqnaq's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adel Hussien was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mortada Ghanem in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mowafak Fahmy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mowafak Fahmy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ghali Ghali, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Gameel Shehta got a throw-in 18 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Abdou Abdel Masoud. Mortada Ghanem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mowafak Fahmy having to interfere. When Adel Hussien came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Gemsa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adel Hussien couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nabil Serag in the 27th minute of play forced Naqnaq's goalkeeper Mowafak Fahmy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st match minute, Naqnaq was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mourad Yassine to maneuver through the defense. After 32 minutes, Burhan Kamouna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Naqnaq and the Gemsa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ghali Ghali scored 0-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mowafak Fahmy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Mortada Ghanem made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Mortada Ghanem managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gemsa's supporters rose to their feet, but Mortada Ghanem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mowafak Fahmy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute, Nabil Serag hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 62 played minutes, Naqnaq's Burhan Kamouna shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raouf Galal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Naqnaq reached it. Raouf Galal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baher Gomaa in the 63rd minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Naqnaq's goal looked a bit too open when Mortada Ghanem came free, but Mowafak Fahmy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nabil Serag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raouf Galal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faisal Badr, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 73 minutes into the game, Mortada Ghanem lined in a short shot 0-6 behind a frustrated Mowafak Fahmy. After 77 minutes, Zagloul Galal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Naqnaq and the Gemsa players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 77 played minutes Naqnaq got a freekick which was hit by Zagloul Galal. Mortada Ghanems short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Mowafak Fahmy to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gemsa's Adel Hussien got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adel Hussien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Naqnaq's zone, Adel Hussien stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mowafak Fahmy came out of the goal and Adel Hussien tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mortada Ghanem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mowafak Fahmy having to interfere. When Nabil Serag came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Gemsa fans jumped to their feet. A hard shot 90 in the game by Mortada Ghanem from a close distance when the talented Mowafak Fahmy managed to make a qualified save. Naqnaq's players were relieved. After 96 played minutes, Gemsa's Nasir Saeed shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mowafak Fahmy came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gemsa reached it. Gemsa's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
