Osvald Vaas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mike McFergus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Osvald Vaas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 minutes of play, Kahtla SK's Kunnar Ärsis made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvald Vaas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peep Türk scored 0-3 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Osvald Vaas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of FC Irwala booed when Kahtla SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eero Oper didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Mike McFergus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvald Vaas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 30th minute Mike McFergus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvald Vaas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mike McFergus got free in front of the goal in the 33rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Osvald Vaas was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Mike McFergus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mike McFergus in the 44th minute of play forced FC Irwala's goalkeeper Osvald Vaas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvald Vaas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kunnar Ärsis in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peep Eenmäe to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Mike McFergus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kahtla SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mike McFergus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Timo Taevere fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Irwala's protests and gave Timo Taevere a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Timo Taevere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mike McFergus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Osvald Vaas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kahtla SK's Volli Kannisto was substituted for Eero Oper. Osvald Vaas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike McFergus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Karmo Toim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Margus Aulik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvald Vaas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mike McFergus in the 77th minute of the match. Osvald Vaas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kunnar Ärsis in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, FC Irwala's Timo Taevere got a free kick in the 79th minute. 82 minutes into the match, FC Irwala's goal looked a bit too open when Mike McFergus came free, but Osvald Vaas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Mike McFergus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osvald Vaas was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game.
