The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Lyaaniste:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vaksali:s goal. When the match had been going on for 15 minutes, Vaksali's Ergo Vahar got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Kuuno Varendi. Egon Alviste showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bas Geerds in the 21st minute of the match. After 24 played minutes Lyaaniste got a freekick which was hit by Riho Vooglaid. After recieving a nice pass, Vaksali's Ergo Vahar tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Egon Alviste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aivar Maandi in the 31st minute of play. Gabriel Kasemägi's late challenge caught a Lyaaniste's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivari Klaabu to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Vaksali booed when Lyaaniste was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Lyaaniste fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kuuno Varendi should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Lyaaniste. Janis Uustal stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Egon Alviste. 4-2. Bas Geerds kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. 98 minutes into the match, Vaksali's goalkeeper Egon Alviste had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bas Geerds. Vaksali's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
