The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kalju Loss hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. In the 4th minute of the match Leo Hommik sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rein Uss skillfully saved the ball. If Kalju Loss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kalju Loss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Kaimo Virunurm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SK Kukhyavere booed when FC Meremaya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Rajavee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leo Hommik didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, FC Meremaya's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Raudsoo came free, but Rein Uss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kert Hea kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Mihkel Allika managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Kukhyavere's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihkel Allika was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mihkel Allika got free with Rein Uss in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kalju Loss in the 24th minute of play forced SK Kukhyavere's goalkeeper Kaimo Virunurm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SK Kukhyavere's zone, Kalju Loss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaimo Virunurm came out of the goal and Kalju Loss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Martin Rajavee came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the FC Meremaya fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Rajavee couldn't finish the play. After 29 played minutes SK Kukhyavere got a freekick which was hit by Mikk Runnel. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kalju Loss in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kaimo Virunurm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kaimo Virunurm didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kalju Loss went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kalju Loss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Kaimo Virunurm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taavet Raidmets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaimo Virunurm having to interfere. In the 44th minute Martin Rajavee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaimo Virunurm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mihkel Allika received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Rein Uss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kalju Loss stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Taavet Raidmets struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Kaimo Virunurm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Meremaya. A collision led to SK Kukhyavere getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Eimar Remmel hit a great ball. Hubert Muuga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Kaimo Virunurm made a huge save. When Joonas Stüf fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Meremaya's protests and gave Joonas Stüf a yellow card for diving instead. It was beautiful to see SK Kukhyavere's Mikk Runnel in action when he in the 67th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 69 minutes into the match, Mihkel Allika had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rein Uss. FC Meremaya's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mihkel Allika was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 72 minutes into the match, FC Meremaya's goal looked a bit too open when Mihkel Allika came free, but Rein Uss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kalju Loss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaimo Virunurm having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, SK Kukhyavere's goal looked a bit too open when Kalju Loss came free, but Kaimo Virunurm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Kalju Loss ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kaimo Virunurm was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After a rather tough play, SK Kukhyavere's Aivar Hõbe got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Kalju Loss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Kaimo Virunurm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kalju Loss was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. FC Meremaya's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Kalju Loss in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kaimo Virunurm, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ennu Vaarandi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
