Laekannu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karlya the free kick. A collision led to Laekannu getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Benno Liivamägi hit a great ball. In the 13th minute Karlya were awarded a corner. Villem Kink went to the cornerflag to take it. Tambet Halman charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tambet Halman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Karlya booed when Laekannu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tambet Halman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elmo Märjamaa in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mark Lass prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Elmo Märjamaa came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Laekannu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elmo Märjamaa couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute Mihkel Tajur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kalev Veisson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kalev Veisson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihkel Tajur in the 32nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Laekannu's Elmo Märjamaa got a free kick in the 33rd minute. When Jaak Valdma came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Karlya fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaak Valdma couldn't finish the play. Edgar Lemsalu kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Elmo Märjamaa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laekannu's supporters rose to their feet, but Elmo Märjamaa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark Lass breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The wind increased when Elmo Märjamaa made the kick off in the second half. Elmo Märjamaa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Mark Lass tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kalev Veisson made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Mihkel Tajur sent off a good shot on target. Mihkel Tajur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Kalev Veisson made a huge save. In the 58th minute, Tambet Halman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kalev Veisson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaak Valdma's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Laekannu's goal looked a bit too open when Jaak Valdma came free, but Kalev Veisson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karlya's Mark Lass played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alo Alusalu in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Karlya's goal looked a bit too open when Elmo Märjamaa came free, but Mark Lass reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alo Alusalu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Laekannu's Kalev Veisson got control of the ball when Mihkel Tajur tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kalev Veisson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kalev Veisson made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Mihkel Tajur sent off a good shot on target. The Karlya supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Karlya would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
