The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Jürgen Loodus came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Karlova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jürgen Loodus couldn't finish the play. Ken Valinu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ainar Ruut having to make a save. The supporters of Karlova booed when FC Ryzer Quill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaijo Viksi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jürgen Loodus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ainar Ruut having to interfere. Karlova's Märten Kuuse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vambola Unt in the 15th minute of play. If Hugo Lemsalu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gunnar Lepist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Märten Kuuse made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vambola Unt in the 25th minute of play forced Karlova's goalkeeper Märten Kuuse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Ryzer Quill's Vambola Unt got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gunnar Lepist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gunnar Lepist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Märten Kuuse having to make a save. 39 minutes into the match, FC Ryzer Quill's goal looked a bit too open when Jürgen Loodus came free, but Ainar Ruut reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Lemsalu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ainar Ruut having to interfere. Ainar Ruut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Lemsalu in the 44th minute of the match. The supporters of Karlova booed when FC Ryzer Quill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvald Vismann didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Märten Kuuse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vambola Unt in the 56th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vambola Unt in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Märten Kuuse saved Karlova from getting behind. 66 minutes into the match, Karlova's Jürgen Loodus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ainar Ruut narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Karlova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egon Kimmel to maneuver through the defense. After 77 minutes, Juss Leiten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karlova and the FC Ryzer Quill players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 77 played minutes Karlova got a freekick which was hit by Juss Leiten. In the 80th minute, Alari Pilvistu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aivar Jors during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Karlova got a freekick which was hit by Aivar Jors. Vambola Unt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gunnar Lepist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karlova's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
