After a defensive mix-up in Viru Wõitlejad's zone, Heigo Vabadus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andri Aavakivi came out of the goal and Heigo Vabadus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 8 minutes into the match, Viru Wõitlejad's goal looked a bit too open when Heigo Vabadus came free, but Andri Aavakivi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute Heigo Vabadus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andri Aavakivi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viru Wõitlejad's Andri Aavakivi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joonas Mahlaoks in the 9th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Kuldar Lemming's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mario Linnus was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 12th minute, Kuldar Lemming left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Viru Wõitlejad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuldar Lemming in the 25th minute of play forced Avaste's goalkeeper Mario Linnus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Kristo Väljaste fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avaste's protests and gave Kristo Väljaste a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Kristo Väljaste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Heigo Vabadus to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Heigo Vabadus fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With his leg Andri Aavakivi managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Avaste's Heigo Vabadus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Lennart Kaljundi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andri Aavakivi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Ereb in the 55th minute. After some careless play in the Viru Wõitlejad defense, Mark Ereb kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andri Aavakivi. The Viru Wõitlejad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andri Aavakivi should have stopped the shot. Lennart Kaljundi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mario Linnus having to make a save. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
