With a little luck, Surtsi SK's Hillar Reitalu got control of the ball when Jaanus Püha tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the match Jaanus Püha climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Hillar Reitalu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Laev in the 29th minute of play forced FC Pilistvere Spartak's goalkeeper Magnus Lepanurm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hillar Reitalu made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Jaanus Püha sent off a good shot on target. Jaanus Püha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Hillar Reitalu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute Kuido Kurk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hillar Reitalu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute Priit Rõõm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magnus Lepanurm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hans Laev struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Magnus Lepanurm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Surtsi SK. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuido Kurk in the 52nd minute of play forced Surtsi SK's goalkeeper Hillar Reitalu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magnus Lepanurm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Priit Rõõm in the 56th minute of the match. Hans Laev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magnus Lepanurm having to interfere. After having played for 68 minutes, Jaanus Püha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Pilistvere Spartak's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaanus Püha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Surtsi SK's goalkeeper Hillar Reitalu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Priit Rõõm came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Surtsi SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Priit Rõõm couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Pilistvere Spartak booed when Surtsi SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kunnar Koha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Surtsi SK's zone, Otto Kalde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hillar Reitalu came out of the goal and Otto Kalde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of FC Pilistvere Spartak booed when Surtsi SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taniel Äss didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by Surtsi SK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Otto Kalde was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Pilistvere Spartak's players had a chance to rest. FC Pilistvere Spartak's Otto Kalde was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hillar Reitalu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Pilistvere Spartak had won after a very even match.
