Karl-Ove Biörk scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fred Kangro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fred Kangro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Ove Biörk in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Mark Maandi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Mustamäe's Fred Kangro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Väino Pihlakas in the 33rd minute of play. Fred Kangro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Ove Biörk, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, FC Mustamäe's Uudo Trump sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sipke de Ruijter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fred Kangro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andreas Jors in the 42nd minute of play. Fred Kangro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Ove Biörk's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl-Ove Biörk was the one to do the kick off. Kerhl's Karl-Ove Biörk got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Uudo Trump received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Sipke de Ruijter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 60 in the game by Karl-Ove Biörk from a close distance when the talented Fred Kangro managed to make a qualified save. FC Mustamäe's players were relieved. In the 61st minute, Kerhl's Väino Pihlakas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fred Kangro. Fred Kangro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. A collision led to Kerhl getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Karl-Ove Biörk hit a great ball. Sipke de Ruijter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaupo Vaha, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Hans Remmel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Mustamäe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kerhl the free kick.
