Patroklos Pappageorge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 12thth minute of the game Simeon Samios who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mikrolímni's Patroklos Pappageorge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 13th minute, Keleus Malihoudis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Mikrolímni's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Simeon Samios fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Apollon FC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Apollon FC's Simeon Samios looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Hector Poniros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simeon Samios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simeon Samios who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Patroklos Pappageorge when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mikrolímni's Patroklos Pappageorge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simeon Samios in the 42nd minute of play. Patroklos Pappageorge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Simeon Samios's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After a rather tough play, Mikrolímni's Hector Poniros got a free kick in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Simeon Samios recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hector Poniros hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Apollon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurelio Natale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simeon Samios struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Patroklos Pappageorge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apollon FC. Aurelio Natale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patroklos Pappageorge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simeon Samios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Apollon FC were the better team. Apollon FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
