CR Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renos Mestas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Renos Mestas put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Lykurgos Forakis. Dimos Panagopoulos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Haimon Banos made a huge save. After 32 played minutes CR Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Alkyoneus Polites. After having played for 33 minutes, Kalkhas Patrianakos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. APOEL F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kalkhas Patrianakos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute of the match, Aktaion Tsardikos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Haimon Banos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dimos Panagopoulos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Haimon Banos made a huge save. Thorikos Antonakos hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Renos Mestas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renos Mestas in the 44th minute of play forced CR Flamengo's goalkeeper Lykurgos Forakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renos Mestas in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lykurgos Forakis saved CR Flamengo from getting behind.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renos Mestas made a kick off. Lykurgos Forakis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kalkhas Patrianakos in the 51st minute. A collision led to CR Flamengo getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Askanios Paschalis hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, Aktaion Tsardikos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CR Flamengo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in CR Flamengo's zone, Renos Mestas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lykurgos Forakis came out of the goal and Renos Mestas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With splendid footwork Renos Mestas arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-4 by the left pole in the game's 70th minute. Lykurgos Forakis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kalkhas Patrianakos in the 75th minute. Haimon Banos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimos Panagopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renos Mestas in the 82nd minute of play forced CR Flamengo's goalkeeper Lykurgos Forakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renos Mestas succeeded in the game's 96th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-6. The APOEL F.C players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
