Tantalos Kopsas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicias Petrakos, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After having played for 20 minutes, Nicias Petrakos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicias Petrakos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Agis Tsiaris managed to get in a good position for a shot. ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA's supporters rose to their feet, but Agis Tsiaris was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tantalos Kopsas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicias Petrakos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Nicias Petrakos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicias Petrakos in the 31st minute of play forced Zérvi's goalkeeper Tantalos Kopsas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Agis Tsiaris came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agis Tsiaris couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes into the match, ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA's goalkeeper Likourgos Gavril had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patroklos Lalagos. Agis Tsiaris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tantalos Kopsas having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Zérvi's Eteokles Koustoubos got a free kick in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Agis Tsiaris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Tantalos Kopsas made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agis Tsiaris got free with Tantalos Kopsas in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th minute, Agix Louverdis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kroios Mihas fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA's protests and gave Kroios Mihas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, one of ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Zérvi. Eteokles Koustoubos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Likourgos Gavril. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Zérvi's Agix Louverdis got a free kick in the 64th minute. A collision led to Zérvi getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Nikias Giannopoulos hit a great ball. If Nicias Petrakos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patroklos Lalagos in the 71st minute of play forced ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA's goalkeeper Likourgos Gavril to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA booed when Zérvi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melikertes Vassilopulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Agix Louverdis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Likourgos Gavril saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zérvi's Tantalos Kopsas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicias Petrakos in the 98th minute of play.
