Lynkeus Panaretos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nontas Polites, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. When Alkestis Kiriakopoulos fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Omonoia Nicosia's protests and gave Alkestis Kiriakopoulos a yellow card for diving instead. Omonoia Nicosia's Kapaneus Petropoulos suffered a concussion after 25 minutes and had to leave the field. Labdakos Nomikos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Lynkeus Panaretos made a huge save. Labdakos Nomikos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
