During the 17th minute of the match Alkyoneus Mitsinikos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alkyoneus Mitsinikos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 17th minute, Alkyoneus Mitsinikos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Likymnios Antonopoulos made in the 20th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Euneos Rousses however managed to control. Apoel Stars's Thoralf Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Apoel Stars from getting a goal against them. Apoel Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Asproyerakáta the free kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alkyoneus Liberoyiannis couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Dimosthenis Horiatis put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Neil Litchfield. Likymnios Antonopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

A hard, long distance shot from Tassos Maneates flew over the goal. With his leg Neil Litchfield managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Apoel Stars's Dimosthenis Horiatis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Apoel Stars's Thrinakie Pagonis managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Epigonoi Tsaousidis in the 58 minute of the game. Apoel Stars's Thrinakie Pagonis got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thoralf Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Euneos Rousses in the 65th minute of the match. In the 72nd match minute, Apoel Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Akastos Orfanos to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute of the match, Dimosthenis Horiatis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Neil Litchfield was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Apoel Stars's Thoralf Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amykos Koustoubos in the 81st minute of play. Dimosthenis Horiatis succeeded in the game's 83rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-4. Dimosthenis Horiatis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dimosthenis Horiatis in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Neil Litchfield, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the Asproyerakáta defense, Dimosthenis Horiatis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Neil Litchfield. The Asproyerakáta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Neil Litchfield should have stopped the shot.
