The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lykurgos Georgenes in the 36th minute of play forced Apoel Stars's goalkeeper Thoralf Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Lykurgos Georgenes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thoralf Hong was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Thoralf Hong came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Glasgow's Lykurgos Georgenes. But to his dismay, Lykurgos Georgenes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. When Glasgow's Lykurgos Georgenes in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Apoel Stars's goalie prevented a goal. The Apoel Stars players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Glasgow were winning 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lykurgos Georgenes to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Lykurgos Georgenes took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Thoralf Hong to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Apoel Stars's Thoralf Hong got control of the ball when Xouthos Pezos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lykurgos Georgenes in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thoralf Hong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Apoel Stars's Thoralf Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lykurgos Georgenes in the 57th minute of play. Xouthos Pezos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Lykurgos Georgenes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Glasgow fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. Glasgow's Srećko Soldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thrinakie Pagonis in the 81st minute of play. Srećko Soldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thrinakie Pagonis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 91 in the game by Lykurgos Georgenes from a close distance when the talented Thoralf Hong managed to make a qualified save. Apoel Stars's players were relieved. Xouthos Pezos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Glasgow's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
