An unexpectedly hard shot by Lykurgos Chellos in the 3rd minute of play forced AC OMONOIA's goalkeeper Russ Sanderson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute Lykurgos Chellos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Sanderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lykurgos Chellos in the 5th minute of play forced AC OMONOIA's goalkeeper Russ Sanderson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lykurgos Chellos came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Apollon Limassol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lykurgos Chellos couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Lykurgos Chellos sped through AC OMONOIA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Russ Sanderson. When Nassos Stamatelopoulos fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apollon Limassol's protests and gave Nassos Stamatelopoulos a yellow card for diving instead. Lykurgos Chellos struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Russ Sanderson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apollon Limassol. In the 38th minute, Pavlos Kanavos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Apollon Limassol's Teo Constancio didn't even have to move. Teo Constancio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odysseas Melonakos in the 39th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Lykurgos Chellos notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of AC OMONOIA's Russ Sanderson. Russ Sanderson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 48 minutes into the game, Aipytos Fikias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Apollon Limassol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AC OMONOIA the free kick. Aipytos Fikias hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Pavlos Kanavos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 49th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teo Constancio. Apollon Limassol's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Odysseas Melonakos was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes Lykurgos Chellos rounded AC OMONOIA's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-5. Teo Constancio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odysseas Melonakos, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Lykurgos Chellos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of AC OMONOIA booed when Apollon Limassol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vaggelis Hadjiyianakies didn't get a good kick on the ball.
