The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Princeton University's Boris Bagdanovich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oleg Ignatovsky in the 3rd minute of play. Boris Bagdanovich stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oleg Ignatovsky's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Boris Bagdanovich was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Oleg Ignatovsky capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Oleg Ignatovsky really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oleg Ignatovsky stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gomel's Erofey Bandarovich got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Erofey Bandarovich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boris Bagdanovich came out of the goal and Oleg Ignatovsky tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 98th minute Erofey Bandarovich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boris Bagdanovich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gomel's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
