Mechyslav Milinkevich stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hamdullah Özerdal's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Hamdullah Özerdal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Mechyslav Milinkevich when he managed to save the team from getting behind. FORTALEZA's 麦沙誉 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Yuriy Kabrynovich, made in the 21st minute of the game. Hamdullah Özerdal in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mechyslav Milinkevich, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 28th minute, Aleksandr Cherkas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the game, FORTALEZA's Hamdullah Özerdal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mechyslav Milinkevich made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The supporters of FORTALEZA booed when Спартак Гомель was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pavel Lukashevich didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mechyslav Milinkevich came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by FORTALEZA's Hamdullah Özerdal. But to his dismay, Hamdullah Özerdal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After 39 minutes, Hamdullah Özerdal made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Спартак Гомель's Mechyslav Milinkevich tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hamdullah Özerdal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mechyslav Milinkevich having to make a save. A collision led to FORTALEZA getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Egor Zabarenko hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Спартак Гомель's Jan Dubkov was substituted for Pavel Lukashevich. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aleksandr Cherkas to strike the kick off in the second half. Mechyslav Milinkevich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamdullah Özerdal, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Hamdullah Özerdal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mechyslav Milinkevich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamdullah Özerdal in the 67th minute of the match. FORTALEZA's Pascal Nouma got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Спартак Гомель's Jan Dubkov in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FORTALEZA's goalie prevented a goal. Mechyslav Milinkevich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamdullah Özerdal, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The FORTALEZA fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when FORTALEZA's Hamdullah Özerdal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. FORTALEZA's Kastus Livanovich was substituted for Adrian Salvidor. Hamdullah Özerdal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Hamdullah Özerdal managed to get in a good position for a shot. FORTALEZA's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamdullah Özerdal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mechyslav Milinkevich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivan Prokopov kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Hamdullah Özerdal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
