After having played for 14 minutes, Velizar Tzonevski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelsea Shumen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Velizar Tzonevski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute Marin Popyordanov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Genkov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Anastas Belyov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vasko Iskrenov. Kalaijievo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anastas Belyov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Geno Kelchev blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valentin Genkov having to make a save. Velizar Tzonevski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marin Popyordanov did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Valentin Genkov 28 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the game, Chelsea Shumen's Anastas Belyov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vasko Iskrenov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 44 minutes into the match, Kalaijievo's goal looked a bit too open when Anastas Belyov came free, but Vasko Iskrenov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gyuro Gorinov charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gyuro Gorinov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kalaijievo! The referee gave Chelsea Shumen a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Stanyo Tzarev, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kalaijievo's Vasko Iskrenov. 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anastas Belyov to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Kalaijievo got a freekick which was hit by Dilyan Karov. Dilyan Karov kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Chelsea Shumen defense, Marin Popyordanov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Genkov. The Chelsea Shumen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Genkov should have stopped the shot. Velizar Tzonevski succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-4 in the 74th playminute. Velizar Tzonevski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Geno Kelchev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marin Popyordanov in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Genkov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marin Popyordanov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Genkov having to interfere. The Chelsea Shumen supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chelsea Shumen would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
