In the 7th minute, Zhecho Konstantinov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Velimir Konov, 8 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bobi Ushanov hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. A collision led to FC Rila getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Zhecho Konstantinov hit a great ball. After some careless play in the FC Rila defense, Yasen Subev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rosen Seferov. The FC Rila fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rosen Seferov should have stopped the shot. When Albert Yuliev, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 20 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Rosen Seferov was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Yasen Subev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rosen Seferov having to interfere. Rosen Seferov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yasen Subev in the 29th minute of play. When Parvan Hadzhiyankov came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the FC Rila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Parvan Hadzhiyankov couldn't finish the play. If Parvan Hadzhiyankov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kyupriya's Nedyalko Kúrnolski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Kyupriya from getting a goal against them. 46 minutes into the game, Bobi Ushanov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kyupriya's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Rila the free kick. Parvan Hadzhiyankov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yasen Subev was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Kyupriya's Albert Yuliev got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Parvan Hadzhiyankov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Slavey Dunkov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kyupriya's supporters rose to their feet, but Slavey Dunkov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rosen Seferov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rosen Seferov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yasen Subev, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Nedyalko Kúrnolski came out of the goal and Trayan Haralambov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trayan Haralambov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Nedyalko Kúrnolski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
