Mirolyub Gyorev charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mirolyub Gyorev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of B u l g a r a n booed when Tervel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mirolyub Gyorev didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Tervel's Tzoko Ilyovski got a free kick in the 15th minute. Svetlan Bonin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tenyo Dyulgerov's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute, Boris Baharov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th match minute, Tervel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mirolyub Gyorev to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Dido Ganev sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tervel's Teofan Srebrev didn't even have to move. After 30 played minutes Tervel got a freekick which was hit by Slaveyko Gyuzelski. 33 minutes into the match, B u l g a r a n's goal looked a bit too open when Detelin Kúrdzhaliev came free, but Svetlan Bonin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Detelin Kúrdzhaliev notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of B u l g a r a n's Svetlan Bonin. Svetlan Bonin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Boris Baharov managed to get in a good position for a shot. B u l g a r a n's supporters rose to their feet, but Boris Baharov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teofan Srebrev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Tenyo Dyulgerov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Tenyo Dyulgerov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Svetlan Bonin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Tervel's Detelin Kúrdzhaliev dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. 61 minutes into the match, B u l g a r a n's goal looked a bit too open when Detelin Kúrdzhaliev came free, but Svetlan Bonin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tenyo Dyulgerov got free with Svetlan Bonin in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, B u l g a r a n's Svetlan Bonin got control of the ball when Tenyo Dyulgerov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Teofan Srebrev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boris Baharov in the 68th minute of the match. The supporters of B u l g a r a n booed when Tervel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slaveyko Gyuzelski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Tenyo Dyulgerov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Svetlan Bonin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Detelin Kúrdzhaliev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th match minute, B u l g a r a n was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bozhil Hadzhiiliev to maneuver through the defense. Tervel's Tenyo Dyulgerov got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tenyo Dyulgerov's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Svetlan Bonin firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in B u l g a r a n's zone, Tenyo Dyulgerov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Svetlan Bonin came out of the goal and Tenyo Dyulgerov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tervel's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
