If Parvan Rakovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half FC Ptichevo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Spiridon Kuleliev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of FC Ptichevo booed when FK Austria Wien was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yonko Bukov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FK Austria Wien's zone, Denko Novkov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. FC Ptichevo's Zheko Bitrakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yonko Bukov in the 69th minute of play. Zheko Bitrakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Parvan Rakovski in the 70th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Parvan Rakovski in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zheko Bitrakov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 79 minutes into the game, Spiridon Kuleliev recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yasen Slivenski. Spiridon Kuleliev showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Zheko Kuyumdzhiev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
