In the 9th minute, Boncho Dudovski made a precise shot to the right of Simeon Beltov. Sheffield Wednesday's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 13th minute Tzonko Dapkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simeon Beltov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blagoy Samardzhiev didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tervel Kitov went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Sheffield Wednesday's Grisha Koynov got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Radelna's Ancho Chuchkov broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Grisha Koynov hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Tzonko Dapkov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Radelna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Kostadin Myashkov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Blagoy Samardzhiev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. When Grisha Koynov was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 34 minutes had been played. The supporters of Radelna booed when Sheffield Wednesday was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grisha Koynov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kostadin Myashkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Blagoy Samardzhiev made a huge save. Tervel Kitov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Blagoy Samardzhiev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lazar Vúrbanov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blagoy Samardzhiev having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

52 minutes into the game, Miroslav Chuturkov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Radelna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sheffield Wednesday the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Miroslav Chuturkov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 57 minutes, Tzonko Dapkov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Radelna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tzonko Dapkov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boncho Dudovski did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Simeon Beltov 63 minutes into the match. Simeon Beltov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tzonko Dapkov's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Evstati Sevov kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tzonko Dapkov in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simeon Beltov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 81 played minutes Tzonko Dapkov rounded Sheffield Wednesday's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-5. 87 minutes into the match, Sheffield Wednesday's goalkeeper Simeon Beltov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boncho Dudovski. Tzonko Dapkov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simeon Beltov having to make a save. When Tzonko Dapkov came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Radelna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tzonko Dapkov couldn't finish the play. Radelna's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
