When Vitko Romanski came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Melchester Rovers F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vitko Romanski couldn't finish the play. Chudley Cannons's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Matey Achanov scored to the left of an out of position Evtim Kacharov, making the score, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pancho Momov during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Chudley Cannons getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Pancho Momov hit a great ball. After having played for 21 minutes, Boyan Silyanov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chudley Cannons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boyan Silyanov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chudley Cannons's Evtim Kacharov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matey Achanov in the 44th minute of play. Evlogi Stanyov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dobromir Pushev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matey Achanov made a kick off. Evtim Kacharov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitko Romanski, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Boyan Silyanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladislav Kronev kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the game, Vitan Ashkov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melchester Rovers F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chudley Cannons the free kick. Vitan Ashkov kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Dobromir Pushev was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bocho Hetemov. After having played for 62 minutes, Evlogi Stanyov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chudley Cannons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evlogi Stanyov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Evlogi Stanyov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dobromir Pushev having to interfere. Evlogi Stanyov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dobromir Pushev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Evlogi Stanyov struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Dobromir Pushev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chudley Cannons. 75 minutes into the match, Evlogi Stanyov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dobromir Pushev. Melchester Rovers F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evlogi Stanyov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Vesko Tzaykov, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dobromir Pushev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pancho Momov in the 94th minute of play. Totyo Dambov hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Chudley Cannons's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
