The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Antoan Pamukchiev kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. When Yuri Gevechanov came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Under 21 Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yuri Gevechanov couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Under 21 Academy defense, Peyo Beyazov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yasen Lozev. The Under 21 Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yasen Lozev should have stopped the shot. Peyo Beyazov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Yasen Lozev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Prokopi Mitev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peyo Beyazov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yasen Lozev having to interfere. Yasen Lozev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Akov in the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Under 21 Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Antoan Pamukchiev came free, but Yasen Lozev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Botev FC's Peyo Beyazov got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Botev FC's Stefan Akov in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Under 21 Academy's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Under 21 Academy getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Grisha Godev hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute Prokopi Mitev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yasen Lozev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karamfil Matrov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yasen Lozev having to interfere. Yasen Lozev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peyo Beyazov in the 45th minute of play. Yasen Lozev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prokopi Mitev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Under 21 Academy's zone, Karamfil Matrov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yasen Lozev came out of the goal and Karamfil Matrov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Botev FC's Peyo Beyazov got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Gevechanov in the 54th minute of play forced Botev FC's goalkeeper Antoan Chakúrski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Prokopi Mitev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yasen Lozev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Under 21 Academy's Yasen Lozev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Under 21 Academy from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Prokopi Mitev in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yasen Lozev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Karamfil Matrov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Stefan Akov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yasen Lozev. Under 21 Academy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stefan Akov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Prokopi Mitev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Under 21 Academy's goalkeeper Yasen Lozev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karamfil Matrov. Under 21 Academy's Yasen Lozev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prokopi Mitev in the 68th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Yuri Gevechanov made a precise shot to the right of Antoan Chakúrski. Botev FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Under 21 Academy's zone, Prokopi Mitev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yasen Lozev came out of the goal and Prokopi Mitev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Under 21 Academy booed when Botev FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoan Pamukchiev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lazar Slaveev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Antoan Chakúrski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Yasen Lozev managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Botev FC's Prokopi Mitev fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Botev FC's Karamfil Matrov got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Rosen Totin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antoan Chakúrski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match was over Botev FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Under 21 Academy throughout the match.
