With a little luck, AC Atletic Club's Dragan Vlahovski got control of the ball when Anko Piyanechki tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dragan Vlahovski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anko Piyanechki in the 14th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Mladen Fuskov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Mladen Fuskov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dragan Vlahovski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anko Piyanechki struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Dragan Vlahovski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. AC Atletic Club's Dragan Vlahovski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save AC Atletic Club from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Ivo Borovinov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Omurtag Buyukliyski came out of the goal and Ivo Borovinov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Anko Piyanechki put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dragan Vlahovski. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anko Piyanechki to make the kick off. Anko Piyanechki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Dragan Vlahovski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dragan Vlahovski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mladen Fuskov in the 68th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Mladen Fuskov put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dragan Vlahovski. In the 74th minute, Zhan Dedev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mladen Fuskov in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dragan Vlahovski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 82 minutes, Mladen Fuskov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mladen Fuskov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Mladen Fuskov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dragan Vlahovski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1.
