The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Lyubenov came free, but Spiro Malchev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pencho Viyachki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexey Gelev in the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, one of Kuvandzhilar:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kuvandzhilar. When the match had been going on for 13 minutes, AFC Ajax's Evstati Yarev got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Pencho Viyachki. With a little luck, Kuvandzhilar's Pencho Viyachki got control of the ball when Roman Yanachkov tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the AFC Ajax defense, Vidyo Sachanski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Spiro Malchev. The AFC Ajax fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Spiro Malchev should have stopped the shot. Stefan Lyubenov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Spiro Malchev having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Lyubenov in the 30th minute of play forced AFC Ajax's goalkeeper Spiro Malchev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 minutes, Paun Búrzashki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Ajax and the Kuvandzhilar players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paun Búrzashki hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexey Gelev in the 48th minute of play forced Kuvandzhilar's goalkeeper Pencho Viyachki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

In the 57th minute, Kuvandzhilar's Vidyo Sachanski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Spiro Malchev. Spiro Malchev yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Vidyo Sachanski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Spiro Malchev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pencho Viyachki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Yanachkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paun Búrzashki kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. If Alexey Gelev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stefan Lyubenov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, AFC Ajax's Bobi Karavasilev got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 85 minutes into the game, Toni Siderov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toni Siderov got free with Spiro Malchev in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Many of Kuvandzhilar's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Kuvandzhilar may have spent more time on the ball, but AFC Ajax were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
