Todor Belokapov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stoyko Vúlnarov having to interfere. 10 minutes into the game, Stavri Kopchev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bunarli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kokortsi the free kick. A collision led to Bunarli getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Stavri Kopchev hit a great ball. Encho Mominov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kubrat Pachev having to make a save. When Bunarli's Encho Mominov in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kokortsi's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kokortsi's zone, Encho Mominov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kubrat Pachev came out of the goal and Encho Mominov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Bunarli getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Tzanko Karadochev hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Kokortsi's Benislav Donev tried to score from far away in the 22nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Encho Mominov in the 25th minute of play forced Kokortsi's goalkeeper Kubrat Pachev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tzanko Karadochev struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Kubrat Pachev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bunarli. An unexpectedly hard shot by Encho Mominov in the 46th minute of play forced Kokortsi's goalkeeper Kubrat Pachev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tzanko Karadochev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Encho Mominov to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Kokortsi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denislav Kúrlev to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Encho Mominov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bunarli's supporters rose to their feet, but Encho Mominov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kubrat Pachev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kokortsi's Kubrat Pachev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Kokortsi from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Kokortsi booed when Bunarli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stavri Kopchev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miho Dabchev struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Kubrat Pachev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bunarli. With his leg Kubrat Pachev managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Bunarli's Tzanko Karadochev fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stoyko Vúlnarov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boris Bandev's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Tzanko Karadochev received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kubrat Pachev came out and tried to block the shot, but Tzanko Karadochev slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 78th minute. Kubrat Pachev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Encho Mominov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Petyo Arshinkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Petyo Arshinkov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stoyko Vúlnarov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Petyo Arshinkov notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Bunarli's Stoyko Vúlnarov. Stoyko Vúlnarov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Bunarli supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bunarli would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
