Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Slaveyko Lyubomirov made the kick off which started today's match. Blackburn Rovers FC's Brad Friedel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Blackburn Rovers FC from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Botyo Krústanov during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 14 minutes into the match, Sofia City's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Shearer came free, but Simeon Kabakov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 16 minutes, Alan Shearer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blackburn Rovers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan Shearer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th match minute, Sofia City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosen Kenanov to maneuver through the defense. If Tinko Totin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simeon Kabakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Roberts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Alan Shearer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simeon Kabakov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brad Friedel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Slaveyko Lyubomirov went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The wind increased when Alan Shearer made the kick off in the second half. Botyo Krústanov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Delcho Kraevski came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Sofia City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delcho Kraevski couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Blackburn Rovers FC's Severin Grashev got a free kick in the 58th minute. After 59 minutes, Delcho Kraevski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sofia City and the Blackburn Rovers FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Sofia City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delcho Kraevski to maneuver through the defense. Brad Friedel came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Sofia City's Slaveyko Lyubomirov. But to his dismay, Slaveyko Lyubomirov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Slaveyko Lyubomirov in the 69th minute of play forced Blackburn Rovers FC's goalkeeper Brad Friedel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Alan Shearer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brad Friedel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delcho Kraevski, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Brad Friedel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 82 minutes of play, Sofia City's Botyo Krústanov made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brad Friedel was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Delcho Kraevski in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brad Friedel saved Blackburn Rovers FC from getting behind. If Botyo Krústanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Argir Gasharov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Brad Friedel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
