Sandro Ormea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Kanavaros in the 9th minute of the match. The corner led FC Gurbanovtsi's Timur Achuev to fire away a dangerous shot which Sandro Ormea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 15th minute, Timur Achuev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vilhelm Palonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ildefonso Frascuelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After some careless play in the FC Gurbanovtsi defense, Ildefonso Frascuelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vilhelm Palonen. The FC Gurbanovtsi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vilhelm Palonen should have stopped the shot. Sandro Ormea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evstati Kiradzhiyski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Gurbanovtsi were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after DARAS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Timur Achuev took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Timur Achuev got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sandro Ormea quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 22nd minute, Bayındır Seyfullah hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute Evstati Kiradzhiyski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Ormea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Sandro Ormea managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when FC Gurbanovtsi's Fabio Kanavaros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of FC Gurbanovtsi booed when DARAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragan Mangezov didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fabio Kanavaros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ildefonso Frascuelo during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nedko Vatov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Sandro Ormea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ildefonso Frascuelo to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rudi Voeler in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vilhelm Palonen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes into the match, Fabio Kanavaros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sandro Ormea. DARAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabio Kanavaros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. If Fabio Kanavaros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes DARAS got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Frascuelo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabio Kanavaros in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandro Ormea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabio Kanavaros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of DARAS were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant FC Gurbanovtsi side.
