An unexpectedly hard shot by Radoy Semenov in the 8th minute of play forced EK's goalkeeper Denimir Bebin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denimir Bebin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerasim Slabakov in the 11th minute of play. After 15 played minutes EK got a freekick which was hit by Yancho Traychev. Denimir Bebin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhivko Presolski, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Lighters's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Cido Fernandez scored to the left of an out of position Grigor Ruski, making the score, 1-1. EK's Denimir Bebin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerasim Slabakov in the 27th minute of play. Denimir Bebin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhivko Presolski in the 28th minute of the match. Denimir Bebin came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Lighters's Radoy Semenov. But to his dismay, Radoy Semenov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A collision led to Lighters getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Vladko Kavalov hit a great ball. The supporters of EK booed when Lighters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tzeno Nanev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denimir Bebin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerasim Slabakov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zhivko Presolski to strike the kick off in the second half. EK's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladislav Dzhalev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grigor Ruski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute, İlbey Denizalp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Cido Fernandez sped through Lighters's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Grigor Ruski. Grigor Ruski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cido Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 83rd minute, Vladislav Dzhalev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cido Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigor Ruski having to interfere. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lighters's goalkeeper Grigor Ruski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 90 minutes, Zhivko Presolski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lighters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zhivko Presolski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerasim Slabakov got free with Denimir Bebin in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Grigor Ruski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vladislav Dzhalev went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score.
