The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Petar Zhekov scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomas Sørensen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wellington Figueiredo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trendafil Tashevski's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petar Zhekov in the 10th minute of play. FC Grivata's Kristian Brolin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wellington Figueiredo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thomas Sørensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petar Zhekov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trendafil Tashevski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Wellington Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Dynamo Dresden booed when FC Grivata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arhangel Vergov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wellington Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Eero Grönholm sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tzvetelin Gelev made a kick off. Eero Grönholm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trendafil Tashevski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Tzvetelin Gelev kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Dynamo Dresden defense, Trendafil Tashevski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wellington Figueiredo. The Dynamo Dresden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wellington Figueiredo should have stopped the shot. Wellington Figueiredo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trendafil Tashevski went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 85th match minute, FC Grivata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arhangel Vergov to maneuver through the defense. Wellington Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slavey Kozovski in the 87th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dynamo Dresden's Kjell Fransson got a free kick in the 88th minute. Dynamo Dresden's Wellington Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eero Grönholm in the 89th minute of play. A collision led to FC Grivata getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Patryk Janiczek hit a great ball. If 任昂寒 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tzvetelin Gelev in the 95th minute of play forced FC Grivata's goalkeeper Thomas Sørensen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
