After a defensive mix-up in Lokomotiv Sofia's zone, Dimitar Berbatov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luke Baekelandt came out of the goal and Dimitar Berbatov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Lokomotiv Sofia's Zé Augusto Severo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Totyo Popisakov. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. Crusaders of Dark were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Lokomotiv Sofia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dochko Razpopov took the corner. After taking down the ball on Crusaders of Dark's corner Dochko Razpopov fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luke Baekelandt quite easily take care of the ball. Totyo Popisakov made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Levent Chovalinov sent off a good shot on target. Luke Baekelandt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimitar Berbatov in the 23rd minute of the match. The throw-in from Acho Botzov in the 25th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Crusaders of Dark's Ildefonso Orlondo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Severo in the 29th minute of play forced Crusaders of Dark's goalkeeper Totyo Popisakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 minutes, Acho Botzov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lokomotiv Sofia and the Crusaders of Dark players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lokomotiv Sofia getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Acho Botzov hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Crusaders of Dark's Dimitar Berbatov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luke Baekelandt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zé Augusto Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Luke Baekelandt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimitar Berbatov in the 40th minute of the match. When Dimitar Berbatov came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Crusaders of Dark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dimitar Berbatov couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitar Berbatov in the 46th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Sofia's goalkeeper Luke Baekelandt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dimitar Berbatov in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luke Baekelandt saved Lokomotiv Sofia from getting behind. A nice corner shot did that Eivind Lundemo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luke Baekelandt quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dimitar Berbatov got free with Luke Baekelandt in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
